These articles are designed to be a reference for clans that run the official MBII Ladder or plan on running their own ladder. In this article we will discuss various types of maps, settings and bans with the aim of forming a basis from which most ladders can operate from.
The community has been asking for a ladder to be put in place – and it is definitely something we’re working on! We do not currently have an official set of maps from which clans can choose from, however, there are many high quality maps on which to play. We recommend that clans adapt to the following settings and ban rules when creating their own ladders or playing in one of the community run ladders. This will ensure a high quality experience for all players.

Create a clan name that is unique and represents your group
The clan name will be used for the display names of all members, so if you have multiple clans they should be uniquely named.
The leader can select a logo to represent your group by clicking on the My Clan button in game (under Friends) and then selecting the Icon tab. Once this is done an icon can be selected in game by clicking the My Clan button again and selecting Change.
The clan leader can set up ranks for members. To do this navigate to the Roster tab (under Friends) and then select Roles on the right hand side of the Clans interface which opens up a menu where you can create member roles with different permissions. For example, you may want to create a role that can host ladders but not kick people. You may also wish to have roles with only the ability to invite members, or one that allows them to manage any aspect of your clan.
Choose a clan motto that inspires you and your members
The clan motto is a phrase that you can set which will be displayed to the left of your name when in game. This provides an indication of what your clan stands for, or is known by. It’s important to choose one that represents you well!
Determine if members rank up and how?
Clan members can rank up by gaining XP. This is earned by playing the game and winning rounds. Clan members progress their ranks up to leader by gaining experience points (XP). The amount of XP required to reach the next level is displayed along with a timestamp for when that requirement was last achieved – it also shows your rank and if you’re online or not alongside the XP and level. To see this simply click on the name of any member in your clan interface and it will open up a player report; where we can see their rank, how much XP they need to reach the next level and when that requirement was last achieved (if at all).
