How to Overclock Monitor for Gaming (Higher Refresh Rate)

In this article, I will provide a few tips on how to overclock your monitor for gaming.

The how to overclock monitor 75hz to 100hz is a tutorial that shows how to overclock the refresh rate of a computer monitor.

The word “overclocking” is well-known among gamers in particular. In a word, overclocking implies increasing a device’s performance capabilities.

You can accomplish it with CPUs, GPUs, and other hardware. Surprisingly, you can overclock your display for gaming purposes. Overclocking the display raises the refresh rate, resulting in improved gaming performance.

We’ll teach you how to overclock displays for gaming in this post utilizing some easy procedures and approaches.

Risks and Overclocking’s Advantages a Monitor for Gaming

Are There Any Potential Risks?

Let’s simply talk about the dangers of overclocking since there aren’t that many.

As you can see, there’s an extremely little possibility that overclocking may harm your monitor’s hardware.

Overclocking, on the other hand, may void your monitor’s warranty since manufacturers discourage it. So, if your display is still under warranty, it is best not to overclock it.

Also, keep in mind that the only danger is to your monitor’s lifetime. Overclocking a display simply involves raising the refresh rate over the factory default.

Overclocking improves performance in a variety of ways, so the hardware in your display will have to work harder to achieve a higher refresh rate.

This implies that the internal components will wear out faster than usual.

Benefits of Overclocking

When you overclock your monitor, you receive a faster screen refresh rate. This implies that when gaming, your display will perform better.

What is a Refresh Rate, Exactly?

The refresh rate of a monitor is the number of times a picture is refreshed each second. As a result, the picture changes as you travel throughout the game.

Your laptop should be able to keep up with the shifting picture for the best gaming experience. Otherwise, the screen would flicker, which is not a good thing. The basic truth is that a faster refresh rate implies the monitor will function better and more quickly.

The typical refresh rate for displays these days is 60Hz, but if you play a lot of games, you may want something a bit faster. That’s when you’ll want to use your monitor’s overclocking feature.

Monitor Overclocking

The procedures may vary somewhat depending on the graphics card you’re using. So let’s begin with the NVIDIA Graphics.

Users of NVIDIA

Step 1: Right-click on your desktop and choose NVIDIA Control Panel from the drop-down menu.

Step 2: Select Change resolution from the left-hand option under Display.

Step 3: Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the Customize box next to Resolution.

Step 4: Select “Enable Resolutions Not Exposed by the Display” from the drop-down menu, then select “Create Custom Resolution.”

You may choose and try a refresh rate that suits you. You can alter it if you don’t like it. The best thing to do is just raise the refresh rate by 5Hz and see how it looks and functions.

Even with overclocking, you can only increase the refresh rate by 15Hz.

Step 2: Start CRU. Select the box for Detailed Resolutions.

Step 3: Select Add.

Restart your computer after clicking OK.

You still have one more item to accomplish. Right-click on the Desktop and choose Display settings when the machine restarts.

Scroll down to Advanced display options and select it.

Select Display adapter properties from the drop-down menu.

Change the refresh rate on the Monitor tab. After that, press OK.

That concludes our discussion.

Conclusion

That was all there was to it when it came to overclocking your display for gaming. The problem is, overclocking is entirely dependent on the monitor you’re using. Overclocking may work on one monitor but not the other, even if they are identical.

You may try it on certain gaming displays that allow overclocking. Overclocking, however, may shorten the life of your monitor, so proceed with caution.
