You may also finish the collection by evolving, trading, and hatching some of these Pokémon.

Spotlight Hours are two-hour events in which a certain Pokémon spawns more often than usual. Trainers should anticipate an enhanced likelihood of locating that specific Pokémon, as well as additional XP and Stardust while capturing it.

Although we don’t sure which Pokémon will be highlighted each week, one thing is certain: Ditto has been found impersonating several of the Spotlight Pokémon. During the December 8th Event Hour, for example, PokéStops were brimming with Dittos masquerading as Weedle.

Because it’s impossible to predict which Pokémon you’ll encounter during any given hour event until you catch it and open your journal, it can be difficult to tell if a particular creature is a Ditto or not – but luckily, there’s one surefire way to spot them:

  • Look for the same moveset on each of the same species.
  • Many of Ditto’s speciality techniques are unique, and when combined with its distinctive transformation ability, you can quickly recognize a Ditto in disguise.

December 29th

Shiny Ditto will be available in Pokémon Go on December 29th. Players will be able to catch this elusive pink and green animal for the first time ever. Trainers may go out into their own areas during the Spotlight Hours of December 2021 and capture as many Dittos as they can for a chance for Shiny variants.

A new Pokémon will be showcased each week during the Spotlight Hour, which runs from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Players should ensure that they are online during this hour since, although Shiny Ditto is accessible in other ways, this is the only assured opportunity to get it during the spotlight hours in December 2021.

What Each Spotlight Hour Does

The featured Pokémon will emerge more often than usual during this hour-long event, giving trainers the chance to stock up on sweets and meet uncommon variants of the highlighted Pokémon.

Spotlight Hours also provide double catch stardust, which means trainers may earn twice as much stardust for each Pokémon caught during those hours. These features work together to make it simpler than ever to complete your Pokédex while collecting useful goods and incentives along the way.

December 1st

Pokémon GO’s Masterwork Research will begin on December 1st, 2021, and will include a sequence of Apex Quest Steps. This expanded collection of objectives from the popular mobile game will need players to perform a variety of activities divided into five phases. December 8th

A unique bonus is included in the Pokémon GO Spotlight Hour on December 8th. Trainers will gain twice as much Stardust for capturing Glaceon and Leafeon, two popular and strong Ice-type and Grass-type Pokémon. Make sure you have plenty of Pokémonballs on hand and your game open during the Spotlight Hour, which runs from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time, to take advantage of this chance.

To optimize your Stardust earnings during this hour, aim to capture as many Glaceon and Leafeon as possible while using as few Pokémonballs as feasible. Consider utilizing Berries or higher level Pokémonballs like Great or Ultra Balls if they are accessible. Finally, make sure that your Pokémon have enough Stardust before the event so that you can keep them fueled up throughout the event.
